Water damage and sewage cleanup in Long Beach, at our coverage edge
Long Beach is the western edge of our coverage and the only part of Los Angeles County we serve. Its homes are older than most in Orange County, so the calls we take here often involve aging supply pipes, drain backups and storm water.

Long Beach's median home was built in 1959, almost two decades before Orange County's 1977 median. Homes of that age often still carry original or patched supply and drain lines, which crack, corrode and back up. Sewage is Category 3 black water, so cleanup means removal and disinfection before drying. Long Beach is the edge of our coverage, not the middle of it.
Long Beach Housing, the LA River and Where Our Coverage Ends
Long Beach sits in Los Angeles County, just over the line from Orange County. It is the one LA County city we serve, and it marks the western edge of our coverage. We do not cover the rest of Los Angeles County. When you call, we tell you plainly whether we can take the job. If your address is outside our area, we say so instead of stretching. Our Los Angeles County page explains that limit in more detail.
The median home in Long Beach was built in 1959. Houses from that era have usually seen several rounds of plumbing repairs, and the original lines that remain have had more than six decades to wear. Drain lines can crack or take in roots, then back up into tubs and floor drains. Older supply lines can corrode from the inside until a joint gives way. Either way, water reaches subfloors and wall bottoms that have been dry for years.
The Los Angeles River empties into the Long Beach side of San Pedro Bay, and annual precipitation in Long Beach is 12.02 inches. During the February 2024 storm, downtown Los Angeles got 7.03 inches of rain over Sunday and Monday. A storm on that scale can overwhelm yard drains and send runoff under doors. UC Riverside's plan defines Category 3 as grossly unsanitary black water from sewage or other contaminated sources. That definition guides how we treat both backups and dirty flood water.

Closer to the center of our coverage, we serve Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and the rest of Orange County.
Long Beach is at the edge of our coverage, and it is the only Los Angeles County city we serve. Call with your address and we'll tell you right away whether we can take the job. If we can't, we say so plainly.
No. Our coverage is Orange County plus Long Beach and Corona at the edges. We would rather be clear about that than accept a job we cannot serve well.
Sewage is Category 3 black water, so carpet, pad and lower drywall it touched usually come out. We disinfect the area before drying. Hard surfaces such as tile and sealed concrete can often be cleaned and kept.
Look for bubbled paint, soft baseboards, a musty smell or a water meter that moves with every tap off. Our guide to the signs of a hidden water leak walks through the meter test.
Either of you can call to stop the damage. Tell your landlord or manager right away, and keep photos of your belongings. We document the damage so the owner and both insurers see the same record.
